Cocktails and Mocktails for the New Year 2024!
Friends,
As we cheer the dawn of 2024, I encourage you: mix up an audacious cocktail that matches your bold ambitions for the coming year!
I’m not merely talking about champagne to toast at midnight. I’m talking about a showstopping elixir as daring and dazzling as you aspire to be. A drink that captures your dreams.
Why not concoct a “Backseat’s Over” martini if you plan to finally take the wheel on that entrepreneurial vision? Or stir up a “Watch Out World” negroni to declare this as your year to own your greatness?
Get creative with flavors, garnishes, even vesselware. Let your cocktail making be an act of manifestation. Because the truth is, we too often relegate “magic” to movies and fairytales when really, we are the everyday magicians. We mix the potion, cast the spell, create the reality we envision through courage and action.
So as you mix your drink for the big night, infuse intention into your pours. This year, no more playing small or silencing that inner badass voice! If an average gal like me landed fame through chutzpah alone, imagine the magic you can manifest.
Here’s to finally betting on our boldest selves in 2024 – may your glass be ever full and your dreams within reach!
XO- Beth
Violet Beauaregarde
This cocktail has all the attitude of a competitive gum-snapping tween and all the flavor (and vivid color) of a giant exploding blueberry. It’s a special drink for days when you really want something sugary but you don’t want to load up on processed sugars. The maple syrup adds just the right amount of sweetness.
Recommended Barware – Rocks glass or Mason jar Serves 1
- 1⁄2 cup fresh mint leaves
- 1⁄3 cup organic unsweetened blueberry juice
- 2 ounces gin
- 1⁄2 ounce freshly squeezed lime juice
- 1 tablespoon pure maple syrup
- Ice
- 1⁄2 cup seltzer water
- Garnish: Blueberries, mint leaves, or lime wheel
Muddle most of the mint leaves in a cocktail shaker. Add the blueberry juice, gin, lime juice, maple syrup, and ice and shake well for 10 seconds. Strain the contents of the shaker into an ice-filled rocks glass or Mason jar and top off with the seltzer. Garnish with blueberries and the remaining mint leaves or lime wheel and serve.
Day Drinker
This cocktail is sunshine in a glass. Loaded with the strong antioxidant vitamin C, we like to think of the Day Drinker as the perfect immunity booster when typhoid hits your house. You could tote this one to t-ball games, but bring enough for your friends . . . sports moms always covet!
Recommended Barware – Rocks glass or Mason jar Serves 1
- 1/2 fresh lemon
- 1 Tbs. coconut sugar
- 4-5 fresh sage leaves, plus more for garnish
- 2 oz. gin (like St. Germaine’s)
- 2 oz. fresh grapefruit juice, + grapefruit slice for garnish
- ice
In a mixer, muddle together lemon, sugar and sage. Add in gin, grapefruit juice and ice. Shake until your hands are cold. Pour into a mason jar. Top with more ice and garnish with a grapefruit slice and sprig of sage.
Designated Diva Mocktail
This drink is perfect for your designated driver friends who are watching their waistlines. The Designated Diva Mocktail is a low-calorie drink reminiscent of the Master Cleanse. The maple syrup in it provides vitamins and minerals, while the cayenne pepper speeds up your metabolism and detoxifies your system.
Recommended Barware – Rocks glass Serves 1
- 2 ounces freshly expressed ginger juice
- 2 ounces freshly squeezed lemon juice
- 2 ounces cold filtered water
- Splash of maple syrup
- Pinch of cayenne pepper
- Ice
- Garnish, Ginger coin
Combine the ginger and lemon juices, filtered water, maple syrup, cayenne pepper and ice in a rocks glass stirring gently. Garnish with a ginger coin and serve.
